Story Jana Porter saw a great opportunity to open a ladies boutique in a unique location along Alabama’s Gulf Coast... in the Gulf Shores Old Town area. Setting her heart on it, running…she is succeeding. Charm Boutique is changing the way our Gulf Coast locals shop as well as those who visit frequently. Jana Porter the owner and proprietor, is an accomplished artist with a degree in Studio Art from the University of Mississippi. After touring extensively through the US and Europe, and Costa Rica, Jana began to see a void in the Gulf Coast clothing market. "Here along the Gulf Coast we have no Barney's, no Neiman's, no Saks, no Bergdorf's, no Bendel's...we have some great little boutiques but I felt like there was still so much lacking, that's when I decided to open my own boutique to fill the missing pieces." The shop opened in the fall of 2007 and has been a hit for locals and visitors to the area alike. Many stop in on their way to the Wharf to snag fine sundresses or frocks for the concert of the evening...”truly it’s a great place to relax and find that something new that has been lacking in one’s wardrobe” as one of Gulf Shores locals puts it… another says “my daughter and I had the best time at Charm, it’s a place where she and I can both find something to wear for special events or everyday wear…” Jana continues to search only for premier options in clothing!
